FOOTBALL: Kent State takes six-point lead in second quarter

KENT, Ohio – A 16-yard touchdown run by Dri Archer gave Kent State a 13-7 lead after the first half.

Ball State held a narrow 7-6 lead heading into the quarter, but couldn't get back on the scoreboard. The Cardinals' best opportunity to score in the quarter ended when Keith Wenning was intercepted by Josh Pleasant at the Golden Flashes' three-yard line.

Kent State had a chance to extend its lead, but missed a 24-yard field goal with 33 seconds left in the half.

Wenning finished the half 9-of-15 for 105 yards in the half. Kelly Page leads the Cardinals with 23 rushing yards.
