WOMEN'S GOLF: Cardinals in third place after second round of MAC Championships

Pruett still tied for second individually as BSU drops one spot in team standings

After the second round of play in the Mid-American Conference Championships, the Ball State University women's golf team slipped one spot to third place.

Three Ball State golfers carded top-16 individual rounds to help the Cardinals near the top of the leaderboard. Rachael Pruett's 144 (+1) is tied for second, while Brittany Kelly is in ninth place with a 150 (+6) and Kristtini Cain is tied for 16th with a 154 (+10).

Kirsty O'Connor is tied for 22nd with a 157 (+13), while Katie Windlan is tied for 35th with a 164 (+20).

As a team, No. 33 Kent State University is slowly but surely running away with the title. The Golden Flashes hold a 10-stroke lead over Eastern Michigan. The Eagles, however, are just three strokes ahead of the Cardinals.

Final round play from The Hawthorns Golf Course in Fishers, Ind. wraps up today. For complete coverage of the MAC Championships, read Monday's edition of The Ball State Daily News.
