FOOTBALL: MAC signs deal with Humanitarian Bowl

Game replaces International Bowl for conference

The Mid-American Conference announced a four-year deal with the Humanitarian Bowl that will send its third bowl-bound team to Boise, Idaho, to play a team from the Western Athletic Conference.

The Humanitarian Bowl will replace the now-defunct International Bowl, giving the MAC three bowl affiliations once again.

Last year's game pitted Bowling Green State University against the University of Idaho. The Vandals won what was widely described as one of the best bowl games of the year, drwaing a 2.4 TV rating, which tied for the best in the bowl's 13-year history.

The Humanitarian Bowl is played at Bronco Stadium, the home field of Boise State University best known for its blue turf.

The MAC's other two bowl games are the Little Caesars Bowl, played in Detroit, and the GMAC Bowl, played in Mobile, Ala.
