WOMEN'S TENNIS: Ball State returns to winning ways with sweep of visiting IUPUI

BSU's Hall snaps Jaguars' top freshman's win streak at No. 1 singles

The Ball State University women's tennis team returned to its winning ways Wednesday afternoon, cruising to a 7-0 victory over IUPUI at the Muncie Northwest YMCA Tennis Center.

The Cardinals (3-1) won all six of their singles matches — some in dominating fashion. Five of the six matches were won in two sets. Junior Hayley Hall led the team with a victory in the No. 1 singles match, defeating IUPUI freshman and reigning Summit League Player of the Week Hunter Bullock 6-2, 7-5. The loss was Bullock's first of the season.

The doubles teams were equally as impressive, winning each match to take the doubles point. The tandem of junior Dena Boulieris and sophomore Georgina Thomson lead the way with an 8-3 win over IUPUI's Bullock and Shelby Hullett.

Coach Amy Behrman could not be reached for comment.

Ball State continues its homestand Saturday with a 1 p.m. match against the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
