WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING: Kehe earns MAC Scholar of the Week award

The senior tri-athlete owns a 3.88 GPA in Exercise Science

Making an even bigger case as one of the more well-rounded student-athletes in Ball State University history, Ball State women's swimming and diving senior Sarah Kehe on Friday was announced as the Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Kehe's success in the classroom despite being a three-sport athlete at Ball State amazes coach Laura Seibold-Caudill. Other than competing on the swimming and diving team, Kehe is also on the Cardinals' cross country and track teams.

Kehe, an exercise science major, maintains a 3.88 grade-point average.

"Sarah has outstanding athletic achievements which are accompanied by exceptional academic success," Seibold-Caudill said in a release. "To be a three-sport athlete and maintain a 3.88 GPA is phenomenal."

The award is the second of the week for Kehe. She was named MAC Swimmer of the Week after taking part in four winning relay teams in the Cardinals' win in the Ball State Relay Invitational last Saturday.

Kehe is the second recipient on the Ball State women's and swimming diving team to earn the award this season, joining sophomore Elizabeth Spilman, who earned the award on Nov. 30.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week award is given to a conference student-athlete who maintains a 3.0 GPA and has a standout performance the week prior to receiving the award. The honor is selected by a group of the league's faculty athletic representatives.

The Ball State women's swimming and diving team continues action today at Eastern Illinois University.
