FOOTBALL: Three Cardinals net Second Team All-MAC honors

Crawford and Eddins on defense, Lewis on offense round out All-MAC recipients

A trio of Cardinals have been named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team.

Defensive ends senior Brandon Crawford and junior Robert Eddins, as well as senior running back MiQuale Lewis were voted onto the team by the MAC's 13 head coaches.

This is the second consecutive season Crawford has received the honor. He also received Third Team accolades after his sophomore year.

The 33-year-old former Marine was second on the team with 11.5 tackles for loss and three sacks and had 35 tackles on the season.

This is the first time Eddins has received the award. He led the Cardinals with 13.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. Eddins was also responsible for 55 tackles, which was sixth on the team.

Lewis was a First Team selection last season and finished the season with 871 yards rushing and five touchdowns. Lewis is third all-time in Ball State history with 3,334 career rushing yards. He also managed to rush for 301 yards against Eastern Michigan University. In the same game, Cory Sykes rushed for 203 yards, making the duo the first in NCAA history to rush for 300-plus yards and 200-plus yards, respectively, in the same game.

Ball State ended the season 2-10 after defeating Western Michigan University last week.
