WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Brandl named MAC Player of the Week

Ball State sophomore middle blocker Kelsey Brandl was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. This marks the second time this season that Brandl has been recognized for excellence on the court.

In Thursday's sweep of the University of Toledo, Brandl posted 14 kills, six blocks and hit a remarkable .522 clip. On Saturday, Brandl had 16 terminations and five blocks while hitting .536. For the week, the 6-foor 4-inch Brandl had a success rate of .529 with 30 kills.

Ball State went 2-0 last week.

"Kelsey is setting the tone of us right now. She's carrying a heavy load for us," coach Dave Boos said. "I think she's leading and everyone is following her right now."
