The Ball State University women's basketball program announced the signing of four players to national letters of intent Thursday afternoon. Coach Kelly Packard will bring in a pair of forwards and guards who plan to suit up for the Cardinals in the 2010-2011 season.

Forward Jazmin Hitchens stands at six-feet even and resides in St. Louis. As a junior, Hitchens averaged 14.2 points per game and 6.6 rebounds. Additionally, Hitchens was named as an Associated Press First Team All-State selection in Missouri.

Jordan Huber, a local product from Indianapolis, is a 5-7 guard. Huber's junior year at Ben Davis High School saw her average five points per game while helping Ben Davis High School to a 33-0 record, a No. 1 national ranking and the Indiana Class 5A State Championship.

Another six-foot forward inked by Packard was forward Katie Murphey. Murphy, a native of Peoria, Ill., averaged 10.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game in 2008-09. Her junior season also culminated with an Illinois State Championship for Peoria Richwoods High School.

The final signee for the Cardinals is guard Brandy Woody. Woody, a 5-foot-6-inch guard hails from Thorntown, Ind., where she averaged 19 points per game last season. Woody also contributed 8.8 boards and dished out 7.8 assists at Western Boone High School in a season where Woody was also named an Indiana Junior All-Star.

The Cardinals open their season on the road with a 7 p.m. matchup tonight against the University of Michigan.
