Senior Night was cold and dreary for Ball State University.
The game that followed wasn't much different.
Central Michigan University was in control of Wednesday night's game from the start and defeated Ball State 35-3. Dan LeFevour had another big day at Scheumann Stadium going 25-of-28 for 344 yards and four touchdowns. He added a rushing touchdown and broke Byron Leftwich's Mid-American Conference career passing record.
The Chippewas scored on their first drive of the game on a 10-yard pass from LeFevour to Brian Anderson.
Ball State scored their only points on a 20-yard field goal with 1:38 remaining in the first half.
That brought the score to 14-3, but the Chippewas struck on the next drive. LeFevour found Antonio Brown on a short pass, and the junior broke the play for an 82-yard touchdown.
In the second half, LeFevour added two more touchdowns to David Blackburn and finished the night with 12,000 career passing yards.
Ball State had plenty of chances in the red zone, but was unable to punch the ball in. Twice the Cardinals turned the ball over on downs.
For the Cardinals, Cory Sykes had 85 rushing yards and Tanner Justice was 10-of-17 for 105 yards and an interception.
