SOCCER: Cards end season with 8-0 loss to RedHawks

The Ball State University soccer team ended its season on Thursday afternoon with an 8-0 loss to Miami University, its worst loss of the season.

The RedHawks struck early and often in the first half, scoring three goals in the first 20 minutes of the match. The teams would go into halftime with Miami leading 5-0.

The second half showed more of the same as the RedHawks added three more goals in a 10-minute span.

Coach Michael Lovett was unavailable for comment.

Despite her injury in the match against Northern Illinois University, freshman goalkeeper Nicole Wood played all 90 minutes because of an injury to senior goalkeeper Amy Cleeter.

Wood recorded six saves in the match.

The Cardinals end their season with a 4-13-1 overall record and a 2-8-1 record in the Mid-American Conference.
