President Geoffrey S. Mearns and his wife, Jennifer, will begin their informal campus visits this Wednesday.

The visits, according to a campus-wide email, are to help the Mearnses become more familiar with campus and learn more about the faculty, staff and students.

"I will try to be very present on campus," Mearns said in a May 2017 interview with the Daily News. "Real communication, real understanding is fostered by sitting in a room or stopping in the middle of the quad and having a conversation with somebody."

Starting at 1 p.m., the Mearnses will visit the Art and Journalism Building, Ball Communication Building, Robert Bell Building and the David Letterman Communication and Media Building.

More information about future visits will be released soon, according to the email.
