Muncie is ranked 2nd least costly college town in US

Muncie has done it again, the city was named one of Realtors.com's least expensive college towns in America when it comes to the housing market. 

This year Muncie was ranked second least expensive college town with the median list price for a home at $74,900. It was ranked first in 2015. 

California, Pennsylvania, home to California University of Pennsylvania, was ranked least expensive with a median list price at $73,500.  Kirksville, Missouri, home to Truman State University, was the most expensive with a median list price at $118,500.

The study looked at towns where 20 percent of the population is enrolled in a college or university and the total number of students topped 2,000. 

According to the study, 25.6 percent of Muncie's  population is enrolled in a college or university. 

The website attributed Ball State, Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Cardinal Greenway and the city's museums as factors in Muncie's ranking.
