Ball State and Muncie are hosting a town hall discussion on promoting peace in troubled times at 7 p.m. on April 1. The Muncie City Council and Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler passed and signed a resolution on March 7 that supports religious diversity, tolerance and mutual understanding. It was created due to the increased anti-muslim sentiment and an incident that occurred in November at that Muncie Mall, where a woman posted on social media that she was worried about a terrorist attack after seeing two women in traditional Muslim robes and head coverings at the mall. The Latino Student Union hosted a Citizen Workshop on March 23 in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center to discuss the process of applying for citizenship. One of the activities included taking the test, Form N-400, to become a citizen. The test were later graded to see if the students would have passes. DN PHOTO ALLIE KIRKMAN

Marina Galvani, economist and curator of the World Bank Art program, spoke at the David Owsley Museum of Art on Feb. 16 about the concept of the "1 in 3: What Does It Take for You To Be Outraged?" on display.
