Beginning August 22, 2022, a small section in the southwest corner of parking lot R2 is set to be converted into pay-by-plate meter parking only, giving Ball State University students a last minute parking option. At the entrance of the lot, there is set to be a sign placed that reads, "METERED PARKING ONLY", indicating where to park.

Ball State Director of Athletics Beth Goetz has been named the 2022 NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) Nike Executive of the Year, as chosen by Women Leaders in College Sports August 16. Goetz is the second Ball State representative to earn the award, as former Ball State Director of Athletics Andi Seger recieved the honor in 2002.
