This week on The Gaming Maw, an old favorite returns and we talk about a favorite mechanic of games: choice. That's right, just like real life, in video games your choices affect the final outcome.
Video games are arguably the most interactive form of media. Everything a player does affects the game, and thus the story. We talk about games from Mario to Animal Crossing to Until Dawn, and how the choices you make in-game tie into the narrative.
Make a good choice and listen to this episode!

The first in our two part special on storytelling, the Gaming Maw discusses all the little things that propel a story forward: gameplay.
Which is actually a big part of how video games tell their tales, whether it's crafting, leveling systems, or how one goes about shooting enemies. The action and the reaction. The atmosphere and sometimes, in games like Amnesia, the actual fear.
This episode we talk about our favorite experiences within our fav games and just how the gameplay immerses a player.

https://soundcloud.com/user-519363288/the-coven-s3e5-femme-fatales-and-sissy-sinisters
This week, we three witches gather 'round the swirling cauldron of issues surrounding female baddies and the lack there of.
Do audiences want to watch Captain America beating up a woman? Do all female villains have to femme fatales?
We explore all the implications of genderswaps, writing strong female characters, and the seemingly illusive practice of writing women at all.
We also have an especially enchanting explanation about the history of campy, flamboyant villains, most infamously presented by Disney. Are children's cartoons implying that queerness equates to evil? Is James Bond just as guilty?
Give this magical episode a listen and learn of our favorite female baddies and if women and queer folk should be excluded from the halls of villainy because it doesn't look "good" for them.

We discuss what's made it to our watch lists, along with whatever is happening with the new Pokemon animation on this episode of the Anime A-Team!

This week on The Coven, we're streaming straight to Twitch - and talking about the situation for women on Twitch.
Boobie streams: they're a thing, and people are making a living off of them. Should they be allowed on Twitch? Are women who use massive face cams and low cut shirts detriments to their gender?
We gather around our cauldron and stir up the issues of slut shaming, victim blaming, and how gamer girls are often asked to represent the whole of their gender.

Live and in person, the A-Team discusses when anime goes wrong, or rather, when anime is made into a live action film or TV show.
How far are anime-esque effects allowed to go in the wake of their live action constraints? We go over how realistic we feel titans need to be, the fact that Luna is a human/stuffed animal in the live action Sailor Moon remake (?!), and how much we're looking forward to Willem DaFoe as Ryuk the Shinigami we all know and love.

Killbox "[creates] a challenging interactive experience with a computer game, which is symbolically connected with the controls of a drone pilot, which are being made to resemble Xbox controllers."
Killbox has been selected for IndieCade, the international festival of independent games, and will also be shown at Scotland's digital art festival NeoN.
