Michael Lewis was officially announced as the 20th head coach of Ball State men’s basketball at a press conference April 6. Lewis was introduced by President Geoffrey Mearns and Director of Athletics Beth Goetz.
After starting the season with a 5-7 record, Ball State baseball (17-9, 12-2 MAC) has begun to turn their season around in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play. Since conference play began, the Cardinals have won 12 of 14 games and now sit with the most conference wins in the MAC at 12-2.

After scoring a combined 55 runs in March 19-21’s four game sweep against Mid-American Conference (MAC) opponent Bowling Green (3-16, 1-9 MAC), Ball State Baseball (14-8, 9-1 MAC) stayed hot by winning both games in their doubleheader against Western Michigan (4-15, 2-4 MAC).

As confetti fell from the ceiling of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ball State Women’s Basketball’s hopes of winning its first Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship since 2009 were erased. So too were their hopes of reaching the NCAA Tournament.

As the final buzzer sounded, Ball State Women’s Basketball (20-12, 13-9 MAC) came short in winning their first Mid-American Conference [MAC] Championship since 2009. Instead, Buffalo (25-8, 19-4 MAC) won the championship and punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament with their 79-75 win.

As Ball State head coach Brady Sallee entered the locker room following No. 5 seed Ball State Women’s Basketball’s (21-11, 12-8 MAC) 71-66 win against No. 1 seed Toledo (26-5, 20-2 MAC) March 11, he was ambushed.
