The battle between Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers in Halloween, which has progressed over the course of the past 45 years, finally comes to an end in the trilogy film Halloween Ends. After David Gordon Green's 2021 Halloween Kills fell flat I was nervous to see what would happen in the new film, but I was pleasantly surprised with the overall resolution of the series even despite the areas of the film that were lacking.

Kingdom of the Feared is the third and final installment of Kerri Maniscalco’s Kingdom of the Wicked Trilogy. The first book threw readers into a world of witches, vampires, werewolves, and demons. Emilia, a mortal witch, and Wrath, a Prince of Hell, took the stage begrudgingly bound to one another in the investigation of the murder of Emilia’s twin sister, Vittoria. The second novel ramped up the stakes, and the spice, ending with a shocking reveal. Kingdom of the Feared, published on Sept. 27, continues to follow Emilia and Wrath as they now investigate the death of an important general from House Greed, all while trying to keep Emilia’s not-so-dead twin sister from going down a dark path of death and destruction.

Calling all music lovers! If you are looking for an eccentric sound among the wave of alternative pop and R&B in the Muncie area, look no further than May’s Artist of the Month: Imani. On April 26, I had the chance to interview this Ball State University student. His potential was palpable through the screen of our Zoom call. He wore a pink hoodie and much like the color; he exuded a vibrant and chill demeanor. As a first-generation American, born to Jamaican immigrants, he reflects on music's important role in his life. He grew up listening to reggae, dancehall, R&B, and gospel. He traded in his old stomping ground of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, full of palm trees and balmy weather, for the four-season state of Indiana to study musical theater.
