In response to the recent controversial street preachers at Ball State, a group of students formed Students Against On Campus Harassment and stood on the corner of the Scramble Light on Sept. 30 giving out free hugs. Downtown Muncie is nearing the completion of its months-long construction project, adding ADA compliant sidewalks, parking spots and bike lanes, as well as opening Walnut Street to two-way traffic and improving water drainage. Mumps cases are on a 10-year high with hundreds of reports rolling in from across country since the start of 2017, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
