The Cardinals’ bid at redemption came up short on Saturday, as the red and white fell in both of their games to close out the Dayton Tournament.
Playing against a 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier for the fourth-straight match, Ball State (2-5) dropped the opening game of the Dayton Tournament on Friday evening to Wright State (3-5) by a 3-1 count (26-24, 25-14, 29-31, 25-18).

After defeating Purdue Fort Wayne (3-3) in their last match, the Cardinals traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, Sept. 1-3 for the Blue Jay Invitational and looked to continue their success. However, that wasn’t in the cards this weekend, as Ball State (2-4) finished the tournament winless.
Playing below a newly hung 2022 MAC title banner inside Worthen Arena, the Cardinals closed out their first weekend of action on Saturday with a competitive afternoon loss and a decisive evening sweep.

Following their Thursday sweep of No. 10 Loyola Chicago, No. 11 Ball State Men’s Volleyball remained in contention for its second-straight regular season Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) championship. With that, comes the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MIVA Tournament.
“This is a huge victory for the team,” fifth-year outside attacker Kaleb Jenness said.
In what was their final road stretch of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) portion of their schedule, Ball State Men’s Volleyball won both of their matches. First, the Cardinals won in straight sets (25-18, 25-21, 25-20) over McKendree on March 30, followed by a five-set (25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 17-25, 15-12) thriller against Lewis Saturday.
Ball State Men's Volleyball (14-8, 7-3 MIVA) swept Lindenwood (9-9, 6-4 MIVA) 25-19, 25-18 and 25-17 in conference action at home March 25.
