The Rinker Center for International Programs hosted Laughter Yoga on July 14 in the L. A. Pittenger Student Center. Participants went through various childlike play motions and sounds to create laughter, which helps lower stress and boost energy. The class was taught by Cindy Cash, an Instructional Design and Technology Consultant for iLearn and an adjunct faculty member for the Miller College of Business.
The Muncie Animal Shelter had a line out the door on June 23 as people waited to see dogs and cats up for adoption. The shelter is offering $5 adoptions on Friday and Saturday in hopes to give new homes to over 300 animals taken in this past month.
As part of the Circle City IN Pride Week, the Cadillac Barbie Parade was held on Massachusetts Avenue on June 10. People from all over the Indianapolis area filled the streets to see the colorful floats made by local businesses and organizations. The parade featured over 100 different floats and lasted over two hours.
The LaFollette Complex began coming down on June 7 with the demolition of the north section of the northeast tower. The $3.4 million demolition project started June 1 and will continue through August 10.
The 14th annual Indianapolis Colts Fan Fest came to Morrow's Meadow in Yorktown on June 6. Colts players Adam Vinatieri and Robert Turbin along with Colts cheerleaders came for signings. The event had free live music, Colts giveaways, Play 60 Zone with inflatable games, mobile Colts Pro Shop, and the Experience Colts In Motion travelling museum.
The first Foodie Friday was held at Canan Commons downtown on June 2. The weekly event featured food from Fire and Brimstone Wood Fired Pizza and Three Bears Concessions with children's activities sponsored by The Muncie Symphony Orchestra, Muncie Public Library and YMCA.
Geoffrey S. Mearns began his first day as Ball State's 17th president with a tour through campus led by student tour guides, Diamonds Holsey and Jonathan Wallisch. During the tour, Mearns visited multiple colleges where he spoke to students, introduce himself to Charlie Cardinal and get a taste of what Ball State has to offer.
Volunteers started painting the side of the Mark III Taproom on May 13 as part of the On the Mark, For the City mural project created by the We're Trying Collective. The organization raised $10,000 to start the project, which was inspired as a response to the Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooting. The mural was designed by Ball State alumnus and Indy-based artist Nathaniel Russel and will illustrate the Muncie community's acceptance and support for all people.
Students were given the opportunity to enjoy games, inflatables, free shirts, a showing of the Disney film, Moana, and more at the annual Ball State Bash on the DeHority Lawn on April 27.

Health Occupation Students of America’s Annual 5k Glow Run took place around Ball State’s campus on April 19. The proceeds from the run went to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

University Singers 53rd Annual Spectacular took place in John R. Emens Auditorium on April 7.
The Jive Aces performed on April 6 at John J. Pruis Hall. The swing band placed third in Britain's Got Talent in 2012 and was the only band to advance to the semi-finals. This six-person group has performed together for over a decade and have performed at thousands of festivals, theatres and events throughout the UK, Europe, USA, Japan, Israel, South Africa, Morrocco and the Caribbean. They are known for their high energy jive music.

Ball State's Fashion Design Society presented its "Cheers to 20 Years" fashion show on Saturday in the Applied Technology Building.
