Plesac (2-1, 3.03 ERA) racked up 11 strikeouts without giving up a walk in the 9-0 win. Alex Maloney, the Cardinals' starting shortstop, earned the Player of the Week award after hitting .438 with five runs scored.

Eppers was a perfect 4-4 at the plate in Sunday's 3-1 loss. Head coach Rich Maloney said "it was one of the best games he's ever played." "I'm certainly happy for him and his star sure shined today," he said after the game. Eppers also scored the lone Cardinals' run in the game.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Brendan Burns earned the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week award. Burns won his first start of the year in the Cardinals' 9-3 win over Milwaukee Feb. 27. He struck out six, allowed four hits and walked four batters in six innings pitched. As a freshman, Burns posted a 7.58 ERA in 38 innings, but through 10.1 innings in 2016, he has 10 strikeouts and has only allowed one earned run. Ball State returns to action March 4 against Ole Miss in the Chanticleer Classic in Conway, South Carolina.
