The forecasters at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center released the U.S. Winter Outlook in October ahead of the upcoming winter season, which is December through February in the Midwest.
Tonight: After the severe weather from the past 24 hours in East Central Indiana the dry conditions will continue to be welcome. Cooler temperatures behind yesterday's cold front will set in this evening. Overnight lows are expected to drop down into the low 40's. A few scattered rain showers are possible late tonight into the early portions of tomorrow morning.

Tonight: Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will continue overnight. Locally heavy downpours will be possible everywhere in East Central Indiana. Overnight lows will drop down into the mid-60s. It may feel cooler in areas where rain has previously fallen.
Tonight: After a mild day here in East Central Indiana the clear skies this evening will allow for temperatures to cool down rapidly. A few clouds could build into the region later this evening into the early morning hours on Thursday. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop down to 47 degrees.
Tonight: After a pleasant day, temperatures will quickly slump down to 32 degrees in the overnight hours. A few gusty winds cannot be ruled out of the forecast for this evening. Winds will remain out of the northwest until early tomorrow when the begin to shift the southwest. A Freeze Warning goes into effect for much of East Central Indiana at midnight and will expire at 9 am on Saturday. Primary impacts from this warning include crops and vegetation sensitive to drastic temperature change.
Tonight: Although conditions were calm for a short time, more rain showers continue to move across the East Central Indiana this evening. Overcast conditions will set after the rain showers move out. Tonight, temperatures will drop down to 52 degrees remaining mild. New rain accumulation amounts of .25" or less are expected.

MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- A quiet weather pattern is falling again over much of the Central Midwest. This will allow for us to experience a far amount of sunshine over the next five days here in East Central Indiana. Tonight, low temperatures will drop down to the lower 40s, a change from the 32 degrees low from Monday morning. Sunshine will be accompanied by a southwesterly wind for the day Tuesday. Expect a high temperature of 60 degrees and a low of 41 degrees. Wednesday, Thursday and the morning on Friday will all be very similar. Expect warming temperatures into the weekend but major changes coming. A high of 68 degrees will be forecast for Friday, however, a strong low pressure and cold front will move across the region. This will bring us the chance of a few thunderstorms and rain showers Friday night into Saturday morning.
MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- We tied the record for the day's high temperature set back in 1961, Wednesday. The remainder of Wednesday however will be cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Overnight lows will continue to drop back down to seasonable temperatures for early November. Thursday morning we could see a few more lingering showers in the early morning hours. Cloudy skies will start the day however, clearing skies will be prevalent throughout and into the afternoon. Thursday we will reach a high of 64 degrees and will drop down to 43 degrees in the overnight hours. The forecast headed into the weekend is looking to be great for most outdoor activities. Sunny skies and seasonable temperatures return and stick around well into next week. Friday expect highs in the lower 60's and lows to be in the lower 40's.
MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) - Sunny skies and warmer temperatures continue to impact Muncie and the surrounding area. Today, we will continue to climb to 79 degrees as our high. Tonight, skies will continue to remain clear with temperatures dropping down to 59 degrees. Friday is looking to be another great day before the rain chances return back to the forecast for the weekend. Friday expect mostly sunny skies with a a high of 84 degrees. The weekend rain chances look to be more likely on Saturday. If you are headed out for Family Weekend activities be sure to take a umbrella. Saturday and Sunday's temperatures will be in the lower 80s. Early next week we will see the sunshine return back to the forecast. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) - The temperatures that feel like the season of Fall have returned back to Muncie for at least the morning hours. Expect cooler mornings over the next seven days as morning lows will be in the upper 50s and low 60s. Over the next three days the largest chance for precipitation will return back to the forecast for the daytime on Wednesday. These rain showers will be scattered and will likely occurring in the morning and late afternoon. Rainfall amounts are only expected to be around 0.02" in most locations. Once the cold front moves through on Wednesday, sunny skies will return back to the forecast until Saturday. Family Weekend is shaping up to be nice, however, rain chances return for Saturday. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) - Another wet day here in Muncie as .78" of rain fell in the last 24 hours. If you are tried of the rain, changes are coming to the forecast. Tonight, however, conditions will get much colder before it gets warmer. A Freeze Warning goes into effect tonight at 1:00 am and will expire at 9:00 am. Temperatures will drop below freezing point in the overnight hours with some areas even experiencing some early morning frost. Tomorrow, sunny skies will dominate much of East Central Indiana. Highs will reach the lower 50's and lows will drop down to the low 30's. Wednesday and the remainder of the week are looking to be warm and sunny. A very strong high pressure will be driving the weather for the majority of the next seven days. Temperatures early next week could even reach the mid-70's.
