3,000 strong filled the seats at Worthen Arena last Friday as Ball State Men’s Basketball took the court for its first time this season against UIndy. After a tied first quarter, the Cardinals took off to defeat the Greyhounds, 92-76.

Ball State Men’s Basketball opened up its 2018-19 season taking on UIndy in a exhibition matchup. After a closer first quarter, in the Cardinals were able to pull away in the second half for a 92-76 win.

In a pivotal midweek match-up, where Ball State Football's postseason fate would be dictated, Toledo came out hot rolling the Cardinals, 45-13. While the matchup had a similar finish to the Cardinals loss to Ohio last week, there were a few new aspects of the game that sought improvement from the team.

In its first non-weekend game of the season since throttling Central Connecticut State in late August, Ball State Football broke down defensively as Ohio blew past the Cardinals, 52-14. What looked to be like a close game in the first quarter, as the Cardinals walked off the field with a 7-0 lead, proved otherwise.

In what head coach Mike Neu described as "a disappointing day", Ball State Football suffered its fifth loss of the season to a conference dark horse in Eastern Michigan, 42-20. Through 60 minutes of play, the Eagles capitalized on cracks in the foundation of the Cardinals play.

Junior redshirt receiver Riley Miller and junior redshirt quarterback Riley Neal have been sharing the field since high school. That long time familiarity was on full display as Riley would connect to Riley 11 times on the day in a 52-24 win over Kent State.

From North to South, Ball State Football (1-2, 0-0 MAC) has been all over the state in this early season. This weekend, the Cardinals were in Bloomington to take on Indiana (3-0, 0-0 Big 10) in their ninth all time matchup. After a stalemate first quarter, the Hoosiers would come out running to take the game 38-10.

Ball State Football faced a heavy task today in taking on No. 8 Notre Dame. Not only was this the first time both teams have met, but this is the first time in three season that the Cardinals have faced a ranked opponent. While the score may have not favored the Cardinals, the team was able to limit one of the top offenses in college football for the majority of the game.
