CLEVELAND–The Ball State Cardinals (28-4, 16-2 MAC) opened Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament play with a 77-53 first round win against the Ohio Bobcats (11-19, 8-10 MAC) Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Cardinals have now advanced to the second round of the conference tournament each of the last three seasons.

Muncie Community Schools (MCS) Director of Public Education and CEO Lee Ann Kwiatkowski will be retiring at the end of the year. She will be succeeded by Charles (Chuck) Reynolds, a Muncie Southside graduate and longtime district administrator, according to a statement from MCS Chief Communications Officer Andy Klotz.

The record-breaking season Ball State women’s basketball (27-4, 16-2 MAC) has had up to this point has been the prelude to what their ultimate goal is: capturing a MAC championship and NCAA tournament berth.

Ball State University went head to head with Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois Sunday. The Cardinals defeated the other Mid-American Conference (MAC) team during Northern Illinois’ final home meet of the season. Ball State ended the day 196.100-194.575 leading in each event.
