Today: Heavier pockets of rain move in early this afternoon but will quickly move off to the southwest. Lighter showers are to stick around throughout the day. Gusty winds continue to come out of the southwest at 15-25mph with gusts up to 35mph.

With another dry and sunny day in the books, we add another day to our March dry stretch. Thus far, we have seen 10 consecutive days with no precipitation, which is the third longest March dry stretch in Muncie history! This stretch looks to come to an end soon as rain chances enter the forecast for Thursday.

Today: Highs near 70 for this afternoon! This could be the first day we see 70 since November 10, 2020. Partly sunny skies through the afternoon with clouds increasing through the evening. Winds remain strong throughout the day coming out of the southwest at 15-20mph, gusts even up to 40mph.

The dry stretch continues today, with temperatures topping out at 68 degrees thanks to sunny skies. Temperatures were about 20 degrees above our average at this time of year, which is 46 degrees. Today marks 9 consecutive days with no precipitation, which is the third longest March dry stretch in Muncie history! This stretch looks to come to an end later this week, as rain chances enter the forecast for the end of the week.

Today: Skies will make their way out of the area and we will see some sunshine later this afternoon. As the clouds move out of the area, temperatures will continue to rise. We will warm up to 67 degrees here in Muncie and we will see clear skies all day. In the graphic below, we can see that we have not received any precipitation for this month yet. Last year at this time we saw 3/10 of an inch of rain. Today we are 7/10 of an inch below average for the month of March.

Tonight: Clouds will begin to pop in overnight resulting in partly cloudy conditions. Temperatures will still have a chance to drop pretty quickly once the sun goes down, so we'll see a low around 40. 10-15 mph winds from the SW will continue to push in the warmer air we have been seeing.

Tonight: Temperatures drop quickly overnight, ending up in the upper 20s by daybreak tomorrow. Winds will be light out of the north at 5-10mph. We could see a few isolated clouds overnight, but overall, skies remain mostly clear.

Warm to end the weekend yesterday, getting up to 63 with some rain showers as a warm front passed through in the morning hours. Some parts of southern Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee saw some thunderstorms early yesterday morning, bringing the first storms of 2021 to the area. A cold front came as affected the area, moving through late last night into early this morning leaving us with temperatures in the lower 30's. All of the rain has moved on East leaving us with some clouds, but expect to see clearing skies as the day goes on.

Tonight: Temperatures remain fairly steady this evening in the low to mid 40s, before dropping down to a low of 38 degrees overnight. Be sure to take a jacket with you if you are heading out, because even though winds will remain light out of the southeast at 5-10mph, it could feel chilly. Clouds will increase this evening ahead of our next weather system, which arrives by midnight. Scattered showers will be possible before more widespread rain moves into the viewing area by early Saturday morning.

Tonight: A warm front is set to move through the area through the overnight hours, which will allow temperatures to rise tonight. Expect low temperatures to reach the upper 30s late this evening before temperatures rise into the low-to-mid 40s by daybreak. As a result of this warm airmass moving over the cold, snow-covered ground, some patchy fog is possible tomorrow morning.
