Ball State cross country competed in its final meet at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The Cardinals placed 23rd out of 32 teams, scoring a total of 641 points.

Today, Ball State competed at the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship. The Cardinals Placed 10th of 12 teams, scoring 257 points total. Head Coach Adrian Wheatley saw multiple personal records (PRs) today from his team and was proud of their performance.

Delta senior cross country runner Nicki Southerland is the Daily News Athlete of the Week from the week of 10/11-10/18. She has been voted as the winner for the last two weeks.

Ball State’s Cross Country team competed in its fourth meet this season at the Bradley Pink Invitational in Peoria, Illinois. The Cardinals placed 22nd out of 33 teams with 491 points.

Ball State cross country competed in its third meet of the season today. The Cardinals, scoring 175 points, finished 8th out of 16 at the Lakefront Invitational 6k hosted by Loyola.
After taking first place in the We Fly Ball State Cross Country Challenge just two weeks prior, Ball State finished 7th out of 11 in the Cardinals’ first 6k race of the season at the Mel Brodt Collegiate Open at Bowling Green State University. Toldeo took first place.
The collegiate cross-country offseason only lasts three months. For successful programs, like Ball State, that offseason can be even shorter.

When fourth-year Vivian Van Eck started cross country in fifth grade, she hated it.
Ball State University Spring 2021 graduate Karleigh Conner has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in recognition of her accomplishments in academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, and community service. A former Ball State Track & Field/Cross Country athlete, Conner was one of only 21 female Spring sport athletes in the United States to receive this $10,000 scholarship.
