Pollen season is here and it has hit with a force. According to Accuweather, this season started early and had some of the highest counts of pollen in recent years. Pollen allergies, often referred to as hay fever, affect millions of Americans each year. Unfortunately, people are feeling the effects sooner than usual. Pollen season typically starts in April, but this year many people felt the affects as early as March.

The new proposed Mounds Greenway will give residents from Anderson to Muncie a chance to interact and get active. The greenway will extend from Mounds State Park in Anderson all the way to Muncie to connect with the Cardinal Greenway. This will create more running and biking paths for healthier lifestyles.

Tonight: Today we had pretty much a mix of everything. At the start of the day we hight sunny skies and pretty warm temperatures. As the day went on, clouds started to roll in followed by some rain showers. This lead to the fall of the temperatures as well. That pattern will continue tonight as we will have a chance of spotty showers throughout the course of the evening and the overnight hours.

While severe thunderstorms and tornadoes can happen any time of year, spring is a popular season for them. April, May and June are the most common months when tornadoes and severe storms form. The clashing air masses from Canada and the Gulf create perfect conditions for a tornado.

As you enter Muncie from the east, the first thing you will likely see is a now-abandoned industrial hub. Old warehouses and overgrown parking lots fill the landscape. However, one company says it has a plan to give this side of town a facelift.

Many people are fascinated by the visuals of lunar eclipses, including Ball State students. During the last lunar eclipse that occurred Sept. 27, 2015, students were treated to a full eclipse. Students gathered on campus in the green area between Park, DeHority and Woodworth halls to view the event.

December is finally here, and if you take a look at the 7 day forecast, it says just that. Temperatures have started to drop into the lower 40s and that trend will continue over the next few days. We will remain dry until Sunday as there will be a chance of PM showers. The low on Sunday is 33, so it is possible that their could be some freezing rain or some snow flurries associated with that rain if the temperature gets a little lower. Take safety precautions as necessary. As we look further into next week, the high on Thursday is sitting at 29 right now and 28 for Friday. So as next week progresses the temperatures could continue to drop even more. So make sure as you go through your routine for the day that you have a decent sized weather coat. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Today was yet again another gorgeous day here in Muncie, Indiana. With way above average highs in the low 80s, things are feeling a lot warmer than what they should this time of year. In face we are close to 20 degrees above average for our high temperatures. But our low temperatures are just about average for this time of year. There is a dome of high pressure moving into the air for this weekend which will bring along with it cooler temperatures in the upper 60s as well as sunny conditions throughout the whole weekend. When students come back from fall break the temperatures will continue to rise all throughout the week into the mid to upper 70s. As we hit next Friday, we have a chance for some rain showers which will drop our highs back into the 60s.

The clouds that we encountered today will start to fade off during the over night hours. Then they will return tomorrow as we will have mostly cloudy skies, but the chance of rain will no longer be a problem. On Saturday the chance of rain returns with PM rain showers to start off your weekend. Then on Monday the rain will return after a break on Sunday. From there the highs will start to rise into the low 70s and will remain like that during next week. The sun will be shinning brightly and it will be gorgeous weather for students here at Ball State for their final exams. Make sure you have the umbrella handy this weekend. You won't need it next week!

MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) - The past few days we have experienced some pretty heavy severe thunderstorms here in east central Indiana. Even though the chances for severe weather tonight has decreased, we still have a slight chance of storms and rain that will push through in the early night hours. Follow these storms, our high temperatures will start to decrease into the weekend. The rain will also be back tomorrow during the PM hours as well as Saturday. The winds will also stick around the mid 20 mph mark. Sunday is looking to be an absolutely beautiful day with a high of 59 and a low of 49 with sunny skies. So as you head out to work tomorrow make sure you grab the umbrella because you might need it on your way home from work. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- The past few days have consisted of a very arctic feel. This pattern will continue over the next few days and into early next week. We also have chances of snow Friday morning as well as PM snow showers on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. So make sure that you have your snow scraper handy for your car. Make sure to limit exposed skin due to the fact that the wind chills could potentially get into subzero temperatures. Try to stay warm out there.

MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- The past few days and even weeks have been pretty chilly, but I have some good news for you! The temperatures are going to start rising into the weekend and then into next week. First off, we do have a slight chance of snow flurries later this evening and into the overnight hours. The high will be at only 35 tomorrow, and with a low of 28. Tomorrow will be slightly different than today as we will have partly cloudy skies. Compared to a complete overcast that we had today. From here, the temperatures will start to rise. Saturday the high will climb up to 48, and a low of 38. The winds will also start to pick up to near the 20 mph mark during the weekend and early next week. On Sunday the high will be all the way up to 53 and a low of 43 with also a chance of PM rain showers that will carry into Monday morning. Then on Tuesday we high a high chance for thunderstorms. MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- The past few days have been pretty odd when you look at the temperatures. El Niño is hitting us pretty hard this year, which effects the temperatures and the precipitation. Over the course of the next few days, the temperatures will remain near the 60 degree mark. Winds will stay above the 10 mph mark for the next few days. Tomorrow will be partly cloudy, but on Saturday we will have a chance of AM rain showers. These showers won't last long, but the skies will remain completely overcast afterwards. We will also have another chance of rain on Monday. So as you head to work, make sure that you grab the umbrella as you walk out the door. It seems as if after next Tuesday, the temperatures will start to drop all the way down into the 30s on Thursday. Enjoy these WAY above average temperatures!

MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Fall temperatures have arrived in Muncie this week. As you can tell, the high temperatures have been around the low to mid 60s, with the lows dropping down into the 40s. They will continue to fall, especially into this weekend. Friday we will have a high of 57, and we will actually get to see the freezing point as we will have a low of 32. But it gets worse. Saturday we will have a high of 51 and a low of 28. So you might want to make sure that you have your heavy jacket handy as you go outside Saturday night or to the Ball State football game. Then moving into Sunday we will have a FREEZE WATCH in effect from Sunday at 2 am, until Sunday at 10am. So don't be alarmed if you see frost on the grass Sunday morning, it's just showing us that fall has arrived. After Sunday the highs will start to climb all the way back up into the high 60s, which is more early fall like weather than freeze watches. Make sure you have your jacket with you this weekend!

MUNCIE ,IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- The past few days have made it seem like fall weather is here! That assumption is half way correct. While it is fall, and the temperatures are falling into the 60s, they will climb back up to the 70s for a few days. They will start to rise after Saturday, which we we will have a high of 53 degrees. Also the wind gusts in Muncie today will also carry into the next few days. Then the temperatures will get back into the 70s on Monday. The clouds will also stick around until Monday as well, creating a weary over cast in the Muncie area. But looking at the 7 day forecast, there is no chance of rain showers at all. So I highly suggest that you get outside and enjoy these perfect fall temperatures.

MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) -- Today was one of the best days of the week, with a high of 81. Tonight will get down to a low of 60, with mostly clear skies. Tomorrow the high climb just a little bit to 83 degrees, with a low of 67. We will also have mostly cloudy skies tomorrow. So it wont feel as hot as expected. Looking at Saturday, a front will roll through bringing with it some pretty bad thunderstorms. Keep on eye out for local thunderstorm watches and warnings. Following the front, will be a massive cool down. On Sunday, the high will drop down to 71 degrees, and a low of 48 with sunny skies. That trend will also continue of the following few days. Fall weather certainly seems like it's right around the corner. So get out and enjoy it.
