MUNCIE, IN (WCRD Weather) -- Indiana Severe Weather Preparedness Week continued on Tuesday with a statewide test tornado warning and drill. These drills took place at 10:15 in the morning and 7:35 in the evening. The purpose of these drills was to allow families, businesses, and schools to practice their severe weather action plans. Part of that action plan is knowing the difference between a watch and a warning, and what to do in the event a watch or warning is issued. The key word to a severe weather warning is action. When a warning is issued you need to take action, severe weather is occurring. For more information about severe weather warnings, check out Adam and I's report below.
MUNCIE, IN (WCRD Weather) -- Winter weather week has almost come to an end but there is still plenty to discuss. One of the major things people look to every year is the long term winter weather outlook, which this year is indicating a warmer and drier than average winter. These outlooks can be helpful, but they certainly don't mean it won't get cold and that it won't snow. With that in mind it is always important to know what to look for when it comes to cold weather injuries, such as hypothermia and frostbite, and to know how to treat these conditions. WCRD Chief Weather Forecaster Michael Behrens and Forecaster Adam Grimes have more details in today's stream!
