With eight incoming freshmen, senior Sydney Finke said Ball State Gymnastics will need to come together as a team to get these young competitors acclimated to collegiate play. The young Cardinals will look to the two seniors, Finke and Kaitlyn Menzione, to show leadership and guidance to start the season on a strong note.

Ball State gymnastics sent two gymnasts to the NCAA Central Regional in Columbus on Saturday. Freshman Tia Kaiku was a specialist on floor. This is the first time the Cardinals have sent a specialist to national competition since 2016.

While team competition may have concluded, two Ball State gymnasts have been selected to compete in the NCAA Central Regional. Freshman Tia Kiaku was selected to compete as an individual specialist on floor, and sophomore Bri Slonim will act as an alternate on beam.

Closing out the season in the same place it competed only a week ago, Ball State gymnastics (9-9, 2-4) was back in Mount Pleasant for the Mid-American Conference Championships. An early slip on bars would haunt the Cardinals for the rest of the meet as they would finish in seventh place.

Rolling off some late momentum as the season nears its end, Ball State gymnastics (9-9, 3-4 MAC) closed out the regular season at Central Michigan (9-7, 5-1 MAC). The Chippewas currently sit atop the Mid-American Conference and will host the championships this weekend.

Coming off a less than average performance against Eastern Michigan last weekend, Ball State gymnastics (9-8, 3-3 MAC) looked to bounce back against Western Michigan (5-6, 2-3 MAC) in Kalamazoo. The Cardinals were looking to gain more momentum heading toward the Mid-American Conference championships in two weeks.

Closing up its home stand for the 2018 season, Ball State gymnastics (9-7, 3-2 MAC) looked to build momentum going into the Mid-American Conference Championships as it took on Eastern Michigan (6-5, 2-3 MAC). The Eagles were coming off a second-place finish at the Michigan State Quad last weekend.

As it continues to get deeper into Mid-American Conference competition, Ball State gymnastics (9-6, 3-1 MAC) traveled west to take on Northern Illinois (6-9, 2-2 MAC), where they were defeated 195.375-195.200. Both squads entered today's contest coming off Big Ten losses last weekend and Northern Illinois just edged out Ball State on the scoreboard.

Facing its tightest competition of the season, Ball State gymnastics (9-5, 3-0 MAC) traveled to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes (4-5, 3-2 Big 10). The two squads entered the meet only separated by three spots in the rankings as the Hawkeyes ranked at No. 38 and the Cardinals No. 42.

After Friday night's Royal Ball in downtown Muncie, the Ball State gymnastics team (9-4, 3-0 MAC) regained focus as it faced Bowling Green (3-5, 1-2 MAC). The Cardinals defeated the Falcons last weekend, 195.000-194.275, in the Denver Quad.

Coming off of an upset finish against No. 21 BYU last weekend, the Ball State Gymnastics team (8-4, 2-0 MAC) returns home for its second of three home meets this season against Bowling Green (3-4, 1-1 MAC). This isn’t the first time the Cardinals have met the Falcons this season as they finished two spots ahead of them in the Denver quad last weekend.

After three straight weeks on the road to start the season, Ball State gymnastics (6-3, 1-0 MAC) returned home for the first time this season to take on No. 20 Kent State (2-1, 1-1 MAC). The Cardinals were looking to rally after major improvements on three of four events last weekend.
