After starting the season with a 5-7 record, Ball State baseball (17-9, 12-2 MAC) has begun to turn their season around in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play. Since conference play began, the Cardinals have won 12 of 14 games and now sit with the most conference wins in the MAC at 12-2.
After scoring a combined 55 runs in March 19-21’s four game sweep against Mid-American Conference (MAC) opponent Bowling Green (3-16, 1-9 MAC), Ball State Baseball (14-8, 9-1 MAC) stayed hot by winning both games in their doubleheader against Western Michigan (4-15, 2-4 MAC).

Last weekend, Ball State Baseball (5-7) lost all four games in the Carolinas Coastline Classic. This weekend, the Cardinals bounced back, going 4-1 against Florida A&M (6-7) in the last weekend before Mid-American Conference play.

With one weekend remaining before Mid-American Conference play, Ball State Baseball (2-6) is not in the spot people expected them to be in. Ranked second in the 2022 MAC preseason coaches poll, the Cardinals have only won two of their first eight games.
Not reaching the top of the Mid-American Conference has followed Ball State Baseball since winning the 2014 MAC regular season title. The past three seasons, the Cardinals have experienced a second-place finish.
