After eight months of committee planning and feedback, President Geoffrey Mearns released the university’s proposed strategic plan. The plan, which highlights goals for the years 2024 and 2040, is meant to lead the university into its next centennial, Mearns said.

It was a normal Friday for Ball State alumnus David Pankow, 22. Then, his car caught on fire.
Pankow, who lives on Linden Street, had an 11:30 a.m. shift at Pita Pit. Knowing his white, 1998 Toyota Corolla usually doesn't handle well in the rain.

In March 2018, Ball State University was the only Indiana institution to receive an Interior and National Park Service grant to preserve African American Civil Rights History. The $49,989-grant was awarded to the university to create a virtual museum about Hoosier Civil Rights History.
