The crowd inside the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center anxiously awaited the Mid-American Conference award presentation following the conclusion of the MAC Championships.
Going into the last day of the Mid-American Conference Championships, Ball State Women’s Swim and Dive already obtained 15 top-10 times in various events. The Cardinals finished with 20 top-10 times after Saturday including the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Since last year's Mid-American Conference Championships, junior Logan Ackley has been eyeing his own record in the 200 backstroke (1:48.81). Little by little, his time has been inching toward a new record. The main difference in his stroke this season is the way he is able to propel quickly to the surface off of every turn.

Over the past couple of days, Ball State Men’s Swim and Dive has traveled more than 366 miles on the road. The majority of those miles was spent en route to and from Terre Haute on Saturday.

Ball State Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive finished the end of the fall semester at the Miami Invitational Saturday. In the three-day event, 31 Cardinals finished in the top 16 in different events.
For the third straight season, junior Rachel Bertram has obtained an NCAA Diving Zone C Championship qualifying point total of 290.48 in the three-meter diving event for Ball State Women’s Diving. Bertram is the first Cardinal this season to obtain this qualification.
In it second meeting with Grand Valley State in two seasons, Ball State Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive were unable to defeat Grand Valley State as the men fell, 199-96, and the women, 175.5-124.5. The Cardinals saw six first place finishes on the day.
The table is set as families gather around the dinner table. Plates are piled high with mashed potatoes, turkey and stuffing. For Ball State swimmers and divers, however, while their plates may be full, they still try to stick to their dietary plans.
At its last tournament of the fall season, Ball State Men’s Tennis traveled to Kalamazoo, Michigan for the MAC Indoor Championship. The pair of senior Tom Carney and sophomore Bryce Bonin qualified for the doubles championship and three players qualified for the singles final.
In its final tournament of the fall season, Ball State Women's Tennis traveled to Kalamazoo, Michigan for the Bronco Challenge. The team had a strong finish with a combined singles and doubles record of 20-10.
Ball State Women’s Swim and Dive fell 176-121 to defending Mid-American Conference champion Akron Saturday. Four events that stood out for the Cardinals were the 100 backstroke, 50 butterfly and the one- and three-meter dive.
Behind 25 first-place finishes, the Ball State Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive teams defeated Eastern Illinois Friday.
In the first two meets of the season, the freshmen class has a total of 10 first through fifth finishes.
