Living on a college budget can be tricky when it comes to clothes shopping. Here’s a list of thrifty stores to shop at if you’re trying to save some money:

Attic Window

These are two of the five stores sponsored by the Muncie Mission. They accept donations, as well as volunteers. Attic Window offers a variety of used and moderately-priced items including clothes, shoes, furniture and household appliances.

Goodwill

This is a well-known nationwide store that is a part of a larger, nonprofit organization. In addition to accepting numerous donations, the store offers various opportunities for employment, training and advancement. Each Goodwill store also offers a variety of sales and specials.

Vintage Shoppe

This store offers used, vintage clothing and accessories, as well as handmade gifts at affordable prices. It’s also conveniently located in downtown Muncie.

Plato’s Closet

This is another well-known nationwide store that offers fashionable and in-season used clothes at reasonable prices. Plato’s Closet is a bit more selective in its clothing donations, but this is so it can stay up-to-date with current fashion trends.

T.J. Maxx

This nationally-recognized store gets clothing and other products from name brands and sells them at heavy discounts. This store allows people to have name brand clothes without paying the price for them.

St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store is one of the service ministries in Muncie. Customers have a selection of clothes, accessories and household items. Volunteers are consistently welcomed to help with store business.
