Ball State Women’s Golf will host its only home match of the fall season next week at the Cardinal Classic in Yorktown, Indiana.

The Cardinals will face conference and national competitors. After taking third place last weekend, the Cardinals will look to continue their successful play on their home course.

After finishing runner-up at the Redbird Invitational last weekend, junior Manon Tounalom is on a hunt to do even better and continue to be a leading force on the course.

“I’m still working on my short game,” said Tounalom. “I am just trying to get everything ready to win a tournament.”

Another key player for the Cardinals is sophomore Liz Kim. Although Kim struggled in the first couple rounds in the Redbird Invitational, she was able to capitalize in the final round to make a huge contribution to the team.

As a team, the Cardinals will be preparing to make a statement at home. After one tournament under their belt, the team looks to get acclimated to tournament play heading further into the season.

“We are going to look over our stats and see what aspects of our game we need to focus on,” Head coach Katherine Mowat said. “We are going to be on the course and much as possible and get there young players familiar with the course.

The Cardinals will be hosting the Cardinal Classic at the Player’s Club  on Sept 17-18.
