Following the March 27 victory, Ball State (15-2, 2-0 MAC) tied the record of the fifth most wins in any season, dating back to the beginning of the program in 1978. With six matches remaining in the regular season and tournament play still to come, the Cardinals have an opportunity to set the record for most wins in a season.

The school record that stands now is 19-8, set in 1991.

Ball State has had strong support from its doubles teams this entire season, with both duos going undefeated in two matches last weekend. The doubles' success was fueled by senior Bethany Moore and sophomore Carmen Blanco, and freshmen Audrey Berger and Peyton Gollhofer who are 6-0 and 10-2 this season, respectively.

This weekend, Ball State will take on Miami (5-8, 0-0 MAC) on April 1, followed by Eastern Michigan (3-12, 0-2 MAC) on April 3.

Miami was picked to win the Mid-American Conference title in the preseason coaches’ poll, but have lost its last four matches, all to nationally ranked opponents.

Ball State opens up its weekend at 1 p.m. at Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
