The university reassured students, staff, faculty and alumni that Ball State will still move forward with many of Ferguson's initiatives, following his resignation on Jan. 25.

In an email sent today, Terry King, the university's acting president, said that the university "is on solid footing."

His email left out any details on why former President Paul W. Ferguson resigned Jan. 25.

King said the planned creation of the College of Health will continue, along with the Academic Excellence grants and entrepreneurial learning initiatives started by Ferguson.

These initiatives were part of Ferguson's Centennial Commitment.

King said that the university is "moving forward with the positive initiatives that began over the course of the last three semesters."

However, on Jan. 26 when asked if the board will continue to endorse Ferguson's Centennial Commitment, Trustee Tom Bracken said they would have to look into it.

"I think everything will be evaluated," Bracken said.
