The Ball State men’s volleyball team defeated Ohio State on Sunday 28-26, 22-25, 25-22, 25-20.
Senior middle attacker Kevin Owens led the way on offense with 16 of Ball State’s 62 kills, a .800 attack percentage and no errors.
Outside attackers Matt Sutherland and Marcin Niemczewski added 14 and 13 kills, respectively.
Graham McIlvaine finished the match with 50 assists while adding six of his own kills.
Three Cardinals finished with at least 10 digs, led by Niemczewski with 15, libero David Ryan Vander Meer with 12 and Shane Witmer with 10.
The team registered eight service aces, three of them from middle attacker Matt Leske who also led Ball State with three solo blocks.
The win improves the Cardinals’ record to 17-5 on the season and 6-2 in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. Ball State has won ten matches in a row.?
