Benjamin Dashley's advice to freshmen in the Aug. 25 edition of the Daily News is timely and appropriate. As a teacher of Freshman Composition for the English Department, I would like to add to Dashley's excellent comments: Please do your homework for the day it is required and be ready for discussion on the day the homework is due. Not only will you be following Dashley's view that school is a job, but you will gain much more learning from the classroom experience.
