John. Paul. George. Ringo. The Fab Four. The Beatles. Arguably the greatest band of all time, they are more than just musicians. They are cultural icons.
The Beatles' legacy has not faded, if anything, it has gotten stronger. They are still as popular today, almost 50 years later, as they were in the height of their career. They have garnered hundreds of tribute bands, including Rain, who is performing at John R. Emens Auditorium on Monday.
With Rain's arrival drawing near, I was inspired to review the Beatles first (and best) film, "A Hard Day's Night."
The movie revolves around the Beatles leaving their Liverpool home to attend a live television performance in London. Before the performance begins, the band is faced with several problems, including Paul's mischief-making grandfather, Ringo's disappearance, thousands of adoring fans and the police. Will the Beatles make it to the show on time, or will they let everyone down?
