BSU appoints Entrepreneurship director

Ball State University has appointed the interim director of the Miller College of Business' Entrepreneurship Center to the permanent position, according to an announcement released Thursday.

Michael Goldsby took over the position after former director Larry Cox left Ball State for a job at Pepperdine University during the summer.

"Dr. Goldsby has long been considered one of the best up-and-coming professors in his field," Rodney Davis, interim dean of Milller College of Business, said in a press statement. "He has a strong ability to bolster the creativity of our students and, no doubt, will play a major role in continuing the program's outstanding national reputation."

US News & World Report recently ranked the entrepreneurship program No. 8 in the country.

"I am proud to be associated with some of the top entrepreneurship programs in the county," Goldsby said in a press statement. "Their determination and hard work translates into the creation of an exciting core of new companies being created each year."

Goldsby received his bachelors and masters degrees from Indiana University. He earned his doctorate from Virginia Tech, where he was awarded the Jack Hoover Award for Teaching Excellence.
