Staff changes in athletics department

The Ball State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced two staff changes on Monday.

Rob Richards was promoted to ticket sales manager, replacing Joe Carr, who moved back to Ohio to pursue a private business venture.

Pat Noonan was hired as head strength and conditioning coach. He replaces Wade Russell, who left Ball State over the summer to take a teaching and strength coach position at Lafayette Jefferson High School.

Richards has been at his alma mater for 12 years now. He was a graduate assistant coach for the men's tennis team from 1992 to 1994 before being hired as the administrative assistant in the athletics department the following year. At the beginning of the 1996 school year, he was named the assistant ticket manager and was later promoted to associate ticket manager in 2003.

Noonan joins the Ball State staff after working at Penn State as a member of the strength and conditioning staff for seven years. He served as a student assistant trainer for two years at Penn State before being hired by the university in January 1999. During his time there, he worked with all 27 varsity sports.
