Cardinals controll RedHawks, mark eighth straight home win

Ball State's win Saturday secured, at the very least, a share of the MAC West divisional title

Ball State continued it's home winning streak setting its record at 18-9 overall and 11-5 in the Mid-American Conference after defeating Miami (Ohio), 74-58. Saturday's win marks the Cardinals' eighth consecutive win at home this season. Ball State's victory secured at the very least a share of the MAC West divisional title. The Cardinals must win one of it's next two games to win the title outright.

Leading the Cardinals was Theron Smith with his 17th double-double of the season knocking in 18 points and pulling in 12 rebounds.

Aiding Ball State off of the bench was Robert Owens who contributed with 11 points in only 17 minutes of play going 4-6 from the field.

As a team, Ball State found success from behind the three-point arc going 11-24 for the game shooting 45 percent for the contest.

The loss drops Miami's record to 11-16 overall and an even 8-8 in the MAC.
