MEN'S TENNIS: Cardinals wrap up day at ITA Regionals

Ball State men's tennis team completed its second day of competition at the USTA/ITA Regionals Oct. 17, hosted by Vanderbilt.

For singles competition senior  Patrick Elliott defeated Max McLean of Murray State 6-2, 6-0. Elliott will take on Patrick Mayer of Memphis Oct. 18. 

Sophomore  Lucas Andersen won straight set victories over Gabriel Ruiz of Morehead State and then took down Shakeel Manji of Memphis.  Andersen will advance to compete against Middle Tennessee State's Dima Zhymantovich. Newcomer  Jan Jirus lost in consolation action 6-1, 7-5 to Vanderbilt's Tate Allwardt.

The Ball State tennis team ends action at the USTA/ITA Regionals Saturday and will finish off fall play Oct. 31 at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championship in Kalamazoo, Mich.
