Nearing the end of regular season play, Ball State softball (30-16, 12-6 MAC) played its first of a three-game series Friday against Eastern Michigan (9-34, 5-13 MAC). Junior Aeshia Miles’ hot hand on the mound gave the Cardinals a 5-0 shutout win over the Eagles.

Splitting the doubleheader Friday, Ball State softball (24-12, 6-3 MAC) wrapped up its weekend series against Kent State (19-14, 5-4 MAC) in the rubber match. While the Cardinals were able to tie the game early, an array of fielding errors gave the Cardinals a 4-1 loss.

Ball State softball (23-10, 5-1 MAC) opens play at home against Kent State (17-13, 3-3 MAC) this weekend. After sweeping Akron on the road last weekend and combining for 30 runs in a two-day span, the team looks forward to competing at home.

After a tight matchup on Friday, Ball State softball (23-10, 5-1 MAC) was looking for the series sweep against Akron (1-26, 0-5 MAC). Four home runs in the first game gave the Cardinals an 9-1, and an offensive explosion in the fourth and fifth innings of the second game gave the Cardinals the sweep with a 16-5 win.

Splitting a doubleheader yesterday, Ball State softball (20-10, 2-1 MAC) finished out its weekend series against Bowling Green (17-12, 1-2 MAC) with a 12-0 win. Junior Aeshia Miles proved to be clutch once again, allowing four hits over the course of the game and striking out three along the way.

Opening spring break with a 2-3 campaign in the Citrus Classic II in Kissimmee, Ball State softball (15-8, 0-0 MAC) dove deeper into its spring break schedule with a mid-week matchup against Virginia Tech (11-12, 1-2 ACC) and UCF (15-8, 0-0 American) before it closed the week in the FAU Parents' Weekend Tournament.

Starting a 12-game stand over spring break, Ball State softball (11-5, 0-0 MAC) kicked off play in the Citrus Classic II at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Cardinals were coming off a successful weekend at the ECU Pirate Invitational, going 4-1 against mid-major competition.
