GuGu Drum Group of Shanghai, an award winning and top rated drum group from Shanghai, performs on May 1 at John R. Emens Auditorium. The group showcased ancient drums and performed authentic drum movements that dated back to Emperors of Chinese Dynasties with a taste of contemporary movements.
The Brazilian Ensemble performs on May 1 at John J. Pruis Hall. The coordinator of the Ensemble was Bruno Carera, a doctoral assistant who arranged the music.
Sophomore redshirt walk-on Roman Baisa honors his late brother and best friend, Leon, by wearing a bracelet around his right wrist with the words "In Memory of Leon W. Baisa," and by writing the initials "LB3" on his bat, mit, batting gloves and wrist tape for every game. Roman's older brother was killed in a car accident the night before Thanksgiving in 2010.
Studio Exhale hosted Yoga with Goats at the Muncie Animal Shelter on April 27. Guests were able to pet goats while practicing yoga to raise money for the shelter.
Students were given the opportunity to enjoy games, inflatables, free shirts, a free showing of the Disney movie Moana and more at the annual Ball State Bash on the DeHority Lawn on April 27. The event was sponsored by Housing and Residence Life, Ball State Dining and several of the Ball State residence hall councils.

Ball State's Late Night Carnival took place on April 21 in the commuter parking lot from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. The carnival included 18 thrill rides, free snacks, games and prizes.
Ball State's Jazz Ensembles performed their last concert of the year in Sursa Performance Hall on April 19. The Jazz Lab Ensemble will travel to Switzerland this summer to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival, one of the largest and most prestigious jazz festivals in the world.
Students from Miller College of Business hosted "Miller Day" on April 19 at the University Green. "Miller Day" is a day of celebrating 51 years of the college.
Health Occupation Students of America’s Annual 5k Glow Run took place around Ball State’s campus on April 19. The proceeds from the run went to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Ball State played Ohio State during the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association semifinals at Ohio State University on April 19. The Cardinals lost 3-2 (25-14, 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 15-13).
American singer, songwriter and actor Jesse McCartney performed in John R. Emens Auditorium tonight. McCartney worked with a group of New York producers, The Elev3n, in 2013 to produce his EP “In Technicolor Part 1” and his full-length, fifth studio album, “In Technicolor,” which was released in the spring of 2014.
Ball State competed in the Ball State Challenge on April 15 at the at Briner Sports Complex. Ball State competed against 5 other teams including Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, IPFW, Butler and Toledo.

Ball State's School of Music held its first annual Spring Shout Songwriting Competition at Be Here Now on April 14. Six participants competed to win the grand prize of a trip to the Popakademie in Mannheim, Germany, where the winner will study with top level musicians and band coaches.
The Ball State men's golf team competed in the Earl Yestingsmeier Memorial Invitational on April 14 at the Deleware Country Club. The Cardinals placed second at the invitational.
