On Wednesday, Ball State announced Larry Markle, director of disability services, is leaving the university.

Markle began working with Disability Services at Ball State in 2000 and became director in 2005.

After working at Ball State for 18 years, Markle is moving on to work at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis, according to an university-wide email.

There, Markle will “continue to grow their initiative for Empowerment and Economic Independence (IEEI), an internship program that was first created for BSU students with physical disabilities,” the email said.

The university will hold a celebration for him at 3 p.m. July 9 in Cardinal Hall C.
