Ball State's Tayler Persons, Trey Moses selected to All-MAC teams

Ball State men's basketball players Tayler Persons and Trey Moses were named to All-Mid-American Conference teams, according to an announcement from the league.

For the second straight year, Persons earned a spot on the All-Conference second team as a junior. After transferring from Northern Kentucky,  the guard has racked up 988 points in his two seasons in a Ball State uniform.

On top of his numerous game-winning shots, Persons averages 14.9 points and 4.3 assists per game, both best on the Cardinals lineup. Averaging a team-high 29.6 minutes per game, Persons has shot 46.3 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from behind the arc this season.

All-MAC Second Team:

Moses, who earned MAC All-Defensive team honors last season, was selected to the All-MAC third team this year. Starting 21 of the Cardinals 31 games after being limited on minutes in the first 10 games, the junior center averaged 26.2 minutes per game, scoring 11.3 points per game and pulling in 260 rebounds (8.4 RPG) this season. 

From the field, Moses has earned a team-high 151 trips from the free throw line and is shooting a career-high 60.3 percent from the charity stripe and is shooting a team-high 57.8 percent from the field.

Darrian Ringo (Jr.) - Miami
Jaylin Walker (Jr.) - Kent State 

Ball State's two all-conference team selections tie for the second most in the conference with Toledo and Eastern Michigan, who each also had two team selections. Buffalo led the way with four individuals making All-MAC team honors.

Ball State will play the winner of tonight's game between No. 5 Kent State and No. 12 Northern Illinois in the quarterfinal round of the MAC Tournament on March 8 in Cleveland, Ohio.
