This week, senior Maddy Labrador joined the likes of teammates Aeshia Miles, Kennedy Wynn and Haley Dominque in being named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week.

This award comes after Ball State had a huge explosion on offense this past weekend, scoring 47 runs over the course of two days in the Belmont/TSU Invite. This included major wins over Rhode Island, Tennessee State and Saint Bonaventure.

This past weekend, Labrador connected with a bat eight times and scored seven runs, resulting in nine RBIs. Labrador hit three home runs this season, two of which were in a 15-0 win against Saint Bonaventure. Labrador also finished off the weekend with a slugging percentage of 1.267.

"Maddy had a tremendous weekend at the plate," head coach Megan Ciolli Bartlett said in a press release. "She was completely dialed in and trusting her preparation. She's heating up at a great time. We're hopeful she'll continue gaining offensive momentum as the conference season begins."

The Cardinals will be back in action on Friday at Bowling Green. The game will start at 3 p.m.
