Tips for donating from the Indiana Blood Center:

  • Bring a photo ID
  • Eat and drink water beforehand
  • Make an appointment
  • Look up the donation process prior to giving blood

As the new year starts, the Indiana Blood Center remembered one Ball State organization that filled its 2017 with donations.

According to a Facebook post from the Indiana Blood Center, the Angels for Life Blood Drive hosted by the university’s staff council was the Center’s second largest donor last year.

This makes Ball State the largest university donor to the Indiana Blood Center.

Angels for Life, which donated 624 units in 2017, fell 65 units short of Indiana State Employees’ total yearly donations.

Though organizations donated thousands of units of blood last year, the holiday season and low temperatures have depleted the Indiana Blood Center’s supply, according to a campus-wide email from Angels for Life.

The next chance to donate is Jan. 17-18 at Pruis Hall. To schedule a time, donors can register online.
