The university sent a campus-wide email  on Sunday after a sexual assault was reported on the 1100 block of W. Riverside Ave, but a specific address was not provided.

The victim has a requested no police investigation at this time, according to the email.

This is the second report of sexual assault reported to the University Police Department in less than a month. Back in August, a sexual battery occurred in an on-campus residence hall, but no investigation was requested.

Both these incidents come as the university is currently under federal investigation into the mishandling of a sexual assault that occurred during the last academic year.

“We encourage anybody that feels like they have been a victim of sexual assault to speak up," university spokesperson Kathy Wolf said. "The safety of our students is our number one priority here at Ball State.”
